Tartu’s Largest Business Event of the Year: sTARTUp Day 2025 Welcomes Nearly 3,000 Participants
Tartu’s premier business event is officially underway! The 9th edition of sTARTUp Day, the biggest entrepreneurial festival in the Baltics, kicks off today, drawing nearly 3,000 entrepreneurs, scientists, and investors for three days of networking, inspiration, and deal-making.
“sTARTUp Day is more than just a festival—it’s a platform for recovery and growth,” says Head Organizer Jana Saastamoinen. “Last year, we talked about survival, but 2025 is about moving forward. We want every participant to leave with five new connections, three key insights, and at least one big idea that sparks their next move.”
The festival’s agenda revolves around four main themes: early-stage startups, mental health, deep tech, and real-life entrepreneurial stories. Highlights include a keynote by Dr. Christina Yan Zhang on the metaverse and digital twin technology, as well as a talk by former Major General Veiko-Vello Palm on the intersection of defense tech and startups.
Attendees can dive into nearly 50 hands-on seminars, covering everything from leadership to marketing. Meanwhile, the region’s most promising startups will battle it out on the pitching stage, where over €500,000 in investments are up for grabs.
As always, the energy will extend beyond the conference halls. The legendary sTARTUp Night takes over the underground parking lot of Delta Center on January 30, promising a rock-and-rebellion-themed evening of live music, surprises, and high-energy networking.
sTARTUp Day 2025 runs from January 29–31 at the University of Tartu Academic Sports Club. The event is co-organized by the City of Tartu, the University of Tartu, and key business development organizations, with international outreach supported by the European Regional Development Fund.
As the largest business event in Tartu this year, sTARTUp Day is the ultimate gathering for those looking to connect, innovate, and push forward.
