International Conference Grant applications open in January 2027

The Enterprise and Innovation Foundation (EIS) has announced the dates for the next round of Estonia’s International Conference Grant. Applications open on 4 January 2027 at 9.00 and can be submitted until 8 February 2027 at 16.00. The round has a total budget of 400,000 euros, with a maximum grant of 30,000 euros per project and a self-financing requirement of 30%.

Who the grant is for

The grant supports bringing more international conferences to Estonia and increasing the number of high-value visitors from abroad. It is available for scientific, professional or special-interest international conferences with a programme lasting at least two consecutive days. A conference held in Tallinn must attract at least 200 foreign participants, and at least 100 elsewhere in Estonia. Training courses, study trips, competitions, trade fairs and information days do not qualify.

What the grant covers

Eligible costs include international marketing activities, travel and accommodation for speakers, organisers and journalists arriving from abroad, and costs related to organising and running the conference — for example equipment and venue rental, interpretation, and measures ensuring accessibility. The grant is paid as a single lump sum after the conference has taken place and the final report has been submitted.

Why it is worth preparing now

Applications must be submitted at least four months before the conference takes place, and all project activities completed by 31 October 2029. The application requires the conference programme, a budget with risk analysis, a marketing and media plan, and a description of the project team’s experience. Since preparing these documents takes time, we recommend starting in the autumn. Applications are submitted through the structural funds e-support environment.

For questions about the grant conditions, EIS business consultant Marge Veeranna is happy to help. Read more on the EIS website and on our conference support page.
