MEET ECB MEMBERS: CENTENNIAL HOTEL TALLINN

Centennial Hotel Tallinn is an elegant lifestyle hotel and event space in Tallinn, the opening of which was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia. We asked Ingrid Sepp, the hotel’s marketing manager, how suitable their hotel is for events and the meaning of the hotel’s sophisticated name.

What does the name – Centennial Hotel – refer to?

With modern architecture, a bright interior and modern amenities, Centennial Hotel Tallinn is a symbolic dedication to the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia. The name of the hotel is not chosen at random but comes from the Latin word Centum, which means 100th-anniversary celebration.

The hotel tells its guests the story of Estonia’s independence through the visual language of design – the rooms have stylistic elements that reflect different moments throughout the 100-year history of the Republic of Estonia.

What types of events are Centennial Hotel particularly suited for?

The conference centre of Centennial Hotel Tallinn has three naturally lit seminar rooms of varying sizes. The largest room, Visioon, can accommodate up to 100 people and the smallest, Inspiratsioon, 30 people. All rooms are fitted with the latest equipment and have a wide range of uses. They are suitable for training sessions, meetings and various types of team-building events. Our conference centre is especially suitable for events where one large and two smaller rooms are needed. In this case it is possible to rent out the entire conference centre for your private use. So if you’re looking for a conference room with daylight in Tallinn, the Centennial Hotel is ideal.

How big is your restaurant and what kinds of food do you serve?

Our cosy restaurant can seat up to 100 guests. The menu includes both Estonian and European cuisine, so everyone will be sure to find something that suits their taste. Groups of over 10 people can choose from a 2-, 3- or 5-course menu. You can also enjoy dishes from the formal dinner menu in our restaurant, ‘100’. It is the perfect setting for company get-togethers, birthday celebrations and Christmas parties. Before heading to the restaurant, your group can gather in the lounge and bar area, which is fantastic for welcoming guests before entering the main room.

Do you offer any exciting additional activities for events?

We provide guests the opportunity to take part in a private gin workshop, which is conducted personally by Ragmar Haabma, Head Chef of the ‘100’ restaurant. Groups starting from 10 people are welcome to attend. During the workshop the participants learn about the history and characteristics of gin, they will be able to taste and mix their own cocktails, and the head chef will prepare delicious snacks to accompany with the drinks. The workshop’s drink selection includes a variety of premium artisan gins from around the world, which every true gin connoisseur simply must try.  You can find out more about the workshop and send an inquiry via email: fb.kwh@uhotelsgroup.com.

What sustainability principles does your hotel follow? What can you do to help save the planet?

At the moment we are actively working towards obtaining the Green Key certificate. We are fully committed to reducing our environmental impact with the help of both employees and visitors, from waste reduction by replacing various disposable accessories and packaging with reusable options, to obtaining sustainable ingredients for the restaurant. We also use environmentally friendly cleaning products and have installed a charging station for electric cars in the hotel courtyard to help reduce the consumption of fossil fuels.

Do you also have special offers for Christmas?

During the winter season, we give companies the chance to organise Christmas parties of varying sizes. The offer includes room rental, a welcome drink and a formal dinner. Clients can choose between a buffet or a set menu, and the price per person starts from 42 EUR. Currently, there is also a special offer – if you book your Christmas party before 20.October 23, the welcome drink will be on the house. Centennial is part of the Unique Hotels Group. What is the Unique Hotels Group and what other hotels are a part of it?

Unique Hotels is a small group of lifestyle hotels that have been operating in Estonia for 20 years. Four of our hotels – von Stackelberg, Kreutzwald, Centennial and City Hotel Tallinn – are located in the heart of Tallinn, just a stone’s throw away from the main attractions of the city. In contrast, our fifth hotel – Vihula Manor – is located on the beautiful northern coast of Lahemaa, away from the metropolitan hustle and bustle.
