Europe’s Largest Young Family Doctors Conference EYFDM Forum 2026 Held in Tallinn

Tallinn, Estonia – 30–31 January 2026

Tallinn hosted the European Young Family Doctors’ Movement (EYFDM) Forum 2026, bringing together 359 young family doctors and family medicine residents from 29 countries. It was the first time the forum took place in Estonia and in the wider Northern and Eastern European region, and the largest EYFDM Forum held to date.

The international medical conference was organised by Eesti Noored Perearstid MTÜ and held at Radisson Blu Hotel Olümpia, reinforcing Tallinn’s growing reputation as a destination for international conferences and professional meetings.

According to Forum Chair Veiko Lillipuu, hosting the event in Estonia significantly increased local participation, with 81 Estonian residents and young family doctors attending the forum, most of them for the first time. International conferences like EYFDM provide young doctors with valuable opportunities to exchange knowledge, build professional networks, and collaborate across borders.

The forum featured a comprehensive scientific programme focused on key challenges in modern family medicine, including digital health, evidence-based practice, patient-centered care, and the efficient use of healthcare resources. In addition, 35 parallel sessions offered participants opportunities to actively contribute and share experiences.

Ahead of the main event, a three-day exchange programme (27–29 January) enabled 40 international participants to gain insight into Estonia’s family medicine system. Feedback highlighted Estonia’s advanced digital healthcare solutions and broad diagnostic and treatment capabilities.

Alongside the conference programme, delegates experienced a diverse social and cultural programme, showcasing Tallinn as an attractive host city for international events. Activities throughout the week included a visit to the historic Town Hall Pharmacy, a lantern-guided walk through Tallinn Old Town, and an Iglusauna experience in the Noblessner harbour area, as well as gala and networking events at distinctive local venues.
