‘You Are Safe Here’ campaign for catering and accommodation launches in Tartu

Restaurants, cafés, bars and hotels in Tartu can now join the newly launched consumer campaign “You Are Safe Here” which shows companies are following the rules to stop the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Catering and accommodation establishments who are part of the scheme can display a blue lable which reads: “Siin on turvaline” or in English: “You are safe here”.

By displaying the label, the company confirms it is following instructions issued by the Health Board.

Alo Lilles, head of the Business Development Department, said: “It has been repeatedly emphasized that we must learn to live with this virus. I am pleased that entrepreneurs have taken the initiative themselves and reacted quickly to the situation and the desire to stand up for the health of their customers. The city trusts its entrepreneurs and we want to further emphasize this trust with the developed consumer label.”

He added: “I also remind consumers that the responsibility for preventing the spread of the virus lies with all of us, not just businesses.”

Business taking part agree to keep guests socially distanced, to have hand sanitizer and disinfectant available for visitors, staff have agreed to report when they feel ill, to not sell alcohol to people who are already drunk, to monitor consumers for signs of illness and to follow ventilation guidelines.

Information for joining the campaign can be found here.
