TALLINN SONG FESTIVAL GROUNDS: MUCH MORE THAN A VENUE
Did you know that in 2025, close to 500,000 people attended events at Tallinn Song Festival Grounds, including nearly 200,000 visitors from abroad? One of Estonia’s most iconic venues has long been much more than the home of the Song Festival or a stage for international artists. Here, cultural heritage meets panoramic sea views, distinctive architecture and flexible event spaces – creating a setting that can turn a conference, gala dinner or company event into something truly memorable.
With more than 25 hectares of green space, the iconic Song Festival Arch and a range of adaptable indoor halls, Tallinn Song Festival Grounds gives organisers plenty of room to think beyond the traditional meeting venue.
So what can it offer conference and event planners?
Can you host more than song festivals and large concerts here?

Absolutely. Tallinn Song Festival Grounds hosts everything from international conferences, seminars and trade fairs to gala dinners, receptions, product launches, Christmas parties and company summer events.
One of its greatest strengths is the possibility to combine indoor and outdoor spaces. A conference programme in one of the halls can continue with a dinner, reception or entertainment programme outside, with the sea and the vast green grounds as a backdrop.
There is plenty of history behind the scenes, too. The main building includes the backstage rooms used by many internationally known artists who have performed here. Michael Jackson, Madonna, Lady Gaga and Justin Timberlake are among those who have prepared for their concerts within these walls.
The Glass Hall is one of the venue’s most distinctive indoor spaces. Located on the second floor of the Song Festival Arch, the 1,012 m² hall features nine-metre-high panoramic windows overlooking Tallinn Bay. Filled with natural daylight, it accommodates up to 600 guests for receptions and theatre-style events and up to 400 for gala dinners.
On the first floor, the 750 m² Pillar Hall provides a spacious and flexible setting for conferences, trade fairs, gala evenings and corporate events. It accommodates up to 500 guests for receptions or theatre-style events, up to 200 in classroom style and up to 250 for gala dinners.
The outdoor areas open up even more possibilities, from smaller receptions and corporate gatherings to major festivals and concerts. Events using the entire grounds can welcome up to 75,000 visitors.
How do guests get to the Song Festival Grounds?

Despite its vast green setting, Tallinn Song Festival Grounds is only a short distance from the city centre. It is around ten minutes by car from Tallinn Old Town and the airport, and can also be reached from the passenger port by a pleasant walk along the seaside promenade.
By public transport: the Lauluväljak and Oru stops are located right next to the grounds. For indoor events, guests are generally advised to enter through the Oru gate.
By car or coach: parking is free of charge for guests attending indoor events. For larger events, the venue team can help organisers plan parking as well as car and coach access according to the scale and format of the event.
Do organisers need to bring their own furniture and equipment?

Much of the essential event infrastructure is already available on site, making event logistics considerably easier.
The venue’s inventory includes more than 6,000 folding chairs, over 2.5 kilometres of crowd barriers, event furniture and cloakroom solutions.
The Glass Hall is also equipped with presentation technology, microphones, an Estonia grand piano and a 5 × 3 metre LED screen.
For events requiring a more elaborate technical production, organisers are welcome to work with their preferred technical partner and tailor the space to the concept of the event.
How does catering work?

Tallinn Song Festival Grounds does not have an exclusive in-house catering provider, giving organisers the freedom to choose the catering partner that best suits their event.
This means menus and service can be adapted to the programme, event format and guest profile – whether you are planning conference coffee breaks, lunch, a networking reception or a formal gala dinner.
How can you make an event here even more memorable?

The setting itself offers several ways to add an extra layer to the programme and introduce guests to Estonia’s culture and history.
Take in the views. End a conference day with a reception overlooking Tallinn Bay from the Glass Hall, or include a guided tour of the grounds to discover the story and cultural significance behind the venue.
Sing beneath the Song Festival Arch. For something distinctly Estonian, invite your group to sing together beneath the iconic Arch. The Song Festival tradition has brought generations of Estonians together through music, making this a simple but powerful way to introduce international guests to an important part of the country’s identity.
Climb the Fire Tower. The 42-metre Fire Tower offers one of the most unusual viewpoints at the venue. After 208 steps, visitors are rewarded with panoramic views across the grounds, Tallinn Bay and the Old Town. Up to 15 people can visit the top at a time.
The flame at the top of the tower is traditionally lit during the Song Festival and extinguished at the end of the celebration to the sound of Gustav Ernesaks’s Mu isamaa on minu arm (My Fatherland Is My Love). For international guests, a visit offers a memorable introduction to the history and symbolism of Estonia’s Song Festival tradition.
A venue shaped by Estonia’s Song Festival tradition

Tallinn Song Festival Grounds is at the heart of Estonia’s Song Festival tradition, which is included on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Today, the venue combines that cultural legacy with the practical requirements of modern events: flexible halls, extensive outdoor areas, sea views and the infrastructure needed to host groups ranging from smaller corporate gatherings to major international events.
For organisers looking for a venue with both capacity and character, Tallinn Song Festival Grounds offers something that is difficult to replicate elsewhere.
