Viimsi Artium receives the international Green Key eco-label
Viimsi Artium has received the international Green Key eco-label, which recognises organisations that operate in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way. The Green Key label assures Artium’s visitors, partners and event organisers alike that environmental protection and sustainability are an important part of its day-to-day operations.
According to Andreas Väljamäe, Head of Viimsi Artium, Green Key is an important step towards modern and responsible event management. “Sustainability has become a natural part of event management, and more and more organisers are also considering a venue’s environmental impact when choosing where to hold their event. For international companies and organisations, a recognised eco-label may already be one of the criteria for choosing a venue. Green Key gives us an important mark of quality and a competitive advantage, and will hopefully open up new opportunities in the international events market as well,” said Väljamäe.
However, Väljamäe says that receiving the label does not mean the work is done. “Green Key obliges us to continuously assess and develop our operations. Reducing our environmental footprint is an ongoing process, and we already have the next steps planned.”

Green Key is an international eco-label for tourism businesses, and since 1994 it has been the leading standard for recognising sustainable practices in the tourism sector. Today, around 9,000 businesses in 90 countries around the world have joined the programme.
Green Key is led internationally by FEE, the Foundation for Environmental Education. It gives tourism businesses a model for building environmental protection and sustainable thinking into their operations.
For visitors, the Green Key label shows that a business is committed to reducing its environmental impact.
