The largest congress yet on topics related to land use AESOP 2022 in Tartu

The annual congress of the Association of European Schools of Planning which is at the forefront of planning research and education, took place in Tartu on July 25-29, headed by the Estonian University of Life Sciences. The AESOP annual congress is held every year in a member university of AESOP, focusing on European, national, regional and local spatial planning issues

This is the largest congress on topics related to land use that has been held in Estonia so far. The co-organisers were the University of Tartu, Tallinn University, Tallinn University of Technology, the Estonian Academy of Arts, the Estonian Association of Spatial Planners and Publicon PCO. There were over 400 delegates participating on the campus of the Estonian University of Life Sciences. Another 200 participants joined the congress online. The keynote lectures were held by outstanding members of the community of planning: Wei Yang (UK), Tiit Tammaru (Estonia), Marketta Kyttä (Finland) and Andres Sevtšuk (Estonia/USA). 15 parallel sessions took place on-site. In addition, there were 3 special sessions and 10 roundtables. 15 mobile workshops introduced Tartu and surrounding regions, focusing on solving specific issues.
