The newly established Estonian Convention Bureau will host a reception at the EIBTM Fair in Barcelona to mark its international launch. The event will be held on December 3 at the Estonia stand J910. Invitations will be going out to the ECB's main partners, members of the trade press and hosted buyers interested in Estonia.
In addition to celebrating the ECB's first year of operation, the reception will be an opportunity to introduce the bureau to the European conference market and to establish links between individual organisations and this small, tech-savvy country.
“The ECB is the main partner when considering Estonia as a meeting destination,” said the bureau's Managing Director Riine Tiigi. “We'll invite the key players to our stand to show them what Estonia has to offer to the meeting industry. Come and meet us either at the reception or during any of the three fair days.”
Tiigi also noted that Tallinn will be a European Capital of Culture in 2011, making it an attractive locale for any art, culture or architecture-related conference. She said that now is the time to book for 2011.
The Estonian Convention Bureau is a non-profit organisation established jointly by public and private sector bodies. It was established in March 2008 in order to attract international conventions to Estonia. The 27 ECB members include the cities of Tallinn, Tartu and Pärnu, the national carrier Estonian Air, and a number of DMCs, PCOs and hotels.
