Direct flights from Tartu to Riga

From 3 July 2009 the Latvian carrier airBaltic will commence direct flights between Riga and the second biggest town of Estonia, Tartu, offering convenient connections with destinations in Western Europe, Scandinavia, the CIS and the Mediterranean.

Direct flights from July will be operated by airBaltic four times a week – on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The airline will perform the flights with a Fokker 50 aircraft and the duration of the flight will be 50 minutes.
 
Tartu is the second biggest town of Estonia and the capital of the Southern Estonia considered the country’s intellectual and cultural centre. It is the home of the Tartu University – the oldest and most famous university in Estonia. Other tourist attractions of the town include St John’s Church, the Barclay Square, the oldest museum of fine arts in Estonia – the Tartu University Museum of Arts, the English Park and one of the oldest architectural monuments – the cathedral ruins on the Toome Hill.
