Estonian Film Museum opened its doors in Maarjamäe Castle park on 4 October 2017. The permanent exhibition ‘Take ONE’ shares the secrets of film making and gives the visitors an idea of what happens behind the camera.  In the magical illusion room, machines from the early years of film are available for exploring and testing how people used to make films.

An important part of the building is the 210-seat cinema and conference hall which is ideal for screenings and a range of other events.  This is great news for Tallinn as the city receives another unique venue, suitable even for smaller scale conferences.  For instance Estonian Film Museum is used as the venue for the 16th European Tourism Forum in relation to Estonian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

As you walk on the red carpet leading you to the Film Museum in the Maarjamäe Castle Park, you will feel like a movie star. The film alley takes you to an exhibition that provides an overview of the history of Estonian films and the behind the scenes of the world’s film industry.
