Neighbouring the Baltic Station Market and Telliskivi Creative City, a new container hotel – unique in Europe – will be opening its doors in February.  The new hotel is the new venture of Hektor who opened Estonian first 5-star hostel in Tartu a couple of years ago.

“The hotel rooms at Tallinn Hektor are built in shipping containers, which, despite their harsh facade and previous work as cargo containers, provide the ultimate in comfort and everything you could expect from a hotel room,” said Sten Tikk, the founder of Hektor. The use of shipping containers in architecture is an increasingly popular solution but this will be the first container hotel in the region, Tikk added.

The 84-room hotel offers good night’s sleep and a new experience to up to 168 guests. “The hotel positively surprises with comfort, coziness and functionality despite being in a very industrial environment,” said Killu Maidla, the hotel manager of Hektor Container Hotel.

The container hotel will be the first hotel in the area and will be located on the territory of the former locomotive depot. “The former industrial area has become the main magnet of Tallinn within only 10 years and has been waiting for its first hotel for a while. We’re happy that Hektor with their wild idea has taken that spot,” commented Anne Aland from Astri Group managing the Baltic Station Market.  The hotel is situated next to several businesses at Telliskivi 62.

Hektor’s mission is to make something new and different. Out of the box solutions have allowed them to create an eco-conscious hotel with impressive design. Hektor offers new experience to hotel guests and adds value to the area and locals visiting it.
